RAMS Group is an early stage privately owned with a history of bringing on board very experienced and capable individuals and is a leader in their industry in Canada. RAMS Group has a strong business plan and expecting to bring growth rates well above the industry average. Our key service offering is a 100% web based, managed services billing and provisioning for service providers and companies that need to process bills and invoices on a recurring manner. The target market of our services is significant in Canada and the United States. RAMS Group is poised to go to the next level and we are seeking an entrepreneurial Director of Sales to take charge of all Sales operations. This position requires a visionary focus from a sales management and productivity standpoint.

This role is instrumental in developing and executing strategic sales plans for growth while leading the organization to even higher growth rates.

The Opportunity:

This opportunity, based out of Toronto, will allow the individual to exercise their considerable knowledge and experience in sales management by helping the organization to build the foundation for future growth and to position the company for the next generation in terms of size, capability and financial performance. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Leading all sales functions including market identification and development, product marketing, advertising, budgeting, reporting, pricing, staffing, sales rep management and development, territory assignment, while personally managing select large accounts.
  • Developing and implementing specific sales strategies in line with customer preferences and current competitive market trends
  • Bring to market innovative customer solutions combining various managed services including terms and pricing and many other variables
  • Participating as a member of the senior management team and working closely with the CEO and Director of Operations in helping the organization in achieving its revenue and profit objectives

This is a very hands on role requiring face to face customer contact in closing business opportunities directly and with sales reps. Leading by example in closing business deals is instrumental as well as transferring these skills to other sales reps. The next 12 -18 months are clearly a time for solidifying sales capability and infrastructure in terms of sales skills development, staffing, organization design, sales process improvement, and most importantly consistently achieving stated sales objectives and targets.

This is an opportunity for a strategic thinking, that requires a focused leader to set in place the capability to consistently deliver on pre-planned objectives.

Attributes of the Candidate:

  • A proven Sales leader and motivator with exceptionally strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, restructuring or streamlining sales processes and leading the implementation of CRM systems across an organization.
  • Sound knowledge, understanding and experience in a solution selling environment with typical 3-12 month sales cycles
  • Demonstrated experience in motivating sales professionals around a goal, creating a rewarding and stimulating work environment and knowledge of change management cycles preferably in significant growth environments
  • Proven strong sales skills including lead generation, prospecting, presentation and closing skills
  • Demonstrated track record in identifying and hiring top performing sales reps
  • Ability to be hands on, while always thinking strategically
  • Positive business profile, presentation, poise and deportment typical of senior managers
  • Superior intellect, a quick and independent thinker
  • Highly organized, an effective manager of time and resources
  • Demonstrated track record of earning trust and confidence of employees and customers alike
  • A role model for leading by example, with a solid values set including the highest levels of integrity, trust and ethics
  • A consistent track record of opening new accounts and results achievement
  • High Entrepreneurial cope
  • Has successfully led a Sales department that consistently meets/exceeds tough targets
  • The ideal candidate will have 7 + years of solution sales experience, at least five years at the management level, and a university or equivalent degree

All Sales staff and lead generation staff report in to this individual. Customer service and inside sales are managed outside of this role to standards agreed with the Director of Sales.

Successful Execution of strategic sales plans is paramount. Positioning the organization for planned growth and expansion is key. Individual sales rep productivity will be a clear result of the efforts of the Director of Sales . Leading by example, sales representative development and mentoring are instrumental to success. An in depth understanding of all aspects of the solution sell and associated financial metrics are critical in being able to properly communicate the value proposition. There are significant well developed support functions in place such as customer service, contracts administration and proposal development. Close sales funnel management is critical. All sales metrics and indicators are already in place.
